During my undergrad I studied Communications. I highly enjoyed the program as there was a wide variety of courses that were engaging and informational. The courses were challenging as they forced you to work within diverse situations. For example, there was a small group communication class in which all projects and grades were a group effort. The course was a great learning experience because in most careers you have coworkers that you are required to work with in some aspect. I also greatly enjoyed... Read More

ASU overall is a good school. However, the teachers aren't all that great. One in particular was the worst teacher I have ever taken classes from at any school across my entire life in school. When I filed a grievance they sided with him even after I provided proof. Then they tried to turn the whole thing around on me and out the blame on the student. Some of the professor are great but others are straight up crazy. They grade you down for honest mistakes, dont give good feedback and have PMS half... Read More

The Cronkite School effectively prepares students for careers in communications as it trains its students in a variety of skills and multimedia talents. There is an emphasis on broadcast, in response to its namesake, and public relations students are a little neglected. However, the director of the public relations program, Dr. Fran Matera, creates valuable and diverse opportunities for her students to support them and allow them to succeed.

I attended Arizona State University (ASU) for three and a half years to obtain a Bachelors in Communication. My time with ASU is continuing, as I am pursuing a Masters in Technical Communication with ASU online. My desire to remain at ASU stems from their consistent and expansive resources. I have several academic advisors and success coaches that reach out to offer advice, career planning, and simply to follow-up with me post-grad. It truly is a wonderful feeling to know that as an alumni and current... Read More

Arizona State University prides itself on giving each and every student a unique experience. I think that each degree program and each campus is set up in a way to make you feel as though you've found your home. There was never a question I couldn't get answered, never a professor who didn't want to help. I enjoyed my experience beginning to end.

I believe that in order to have an effective learning experience at ASU in the Mass Communication program, on campus is where you need to be. You really need to be involved and learn from experiences and surroundings. I was unable to attend on campus classes and did not participate in school events and lost out on many opportunities.

ASU is a great university with a myriad of opportunities that can accommodate just about anything a student desires to accomplish. The faculty is great and the curriculum really prepared me well for my career. I think the networking opportunities are second to none and if you take advantage of all ASU has to offer, there are no doubts you can get to where you want to be.

ASU really felt like a place that wanted me to succeed. There were endless resources from the career coaches to the program advisor that made sure I was on the right track and taking the right classes to be able to graduate in four years. I actually graduated early utilizing this program. There were tutoring centers all across campus and the faculty all had times during the week where you could go into there office and talk to them one on one which I thought was really cool for the big classes and... Arizona State provides a unique experience in that you can take classes in-person, online, and in some cases a fun mixture of both. The adjunct teachers are all professionals in their field, and are exceptionally good at their professions. The coursework provides you with a clear understanding of what lies ahead in your chosen field. However, be careful which major you choose: They make market it well, but some have seriously underperforming career advancement opportunities.

Attending ASU was one of the best decisions of my life. It was good to go right from high school into the college scene. ASU is a school which costs a bit of money, and the administration can be difficult to talk to at times, but once you get through the paperwork, the curriculum is fun and the classes are informative. The areas I enjoyed the most were communication and new technologies, physics and space exploration. The areas I really did not care so much for were architecture and design, and industrial... I like many others chose ASU for the convince of being able be a distance learner at a reputable brick and mortar institution. I had a great experience. My professors and TA's were extremely helpful and actually taught classes. Online lectures were what you would expect if you were in an in class environment with added power point presentations. I really enjoyed my time there and am exploring my options to obtain my Graduate Degree from this institution. I am seriously surprised at all the negative... Read More
