Let's start with the advisor. There is no help in answering questions. You just get snarky remarks back and links that lead you to 404 pages. The instructors just list the chapters you need to read without instruction powerpoints or any hands on help with the material. You are paying to just read a book. Hands down the worst program I have ever been a part of. I have 5 degrees and this was awful. They have very poor communication. The professors are sitting doing nothing and earning a paycheck. That’s a good side gig. They copy and paste emails with wrong dates and for previous semesters not changing it to the correct information. We literally taught ourselves. Read More really good professors throughout the whole program. They expect you to get your stuff in on time but do they grade timely? NO! We didn’t even get info on commencement. We had to Google it! A nice email stating where to park, time to be there, the program etc would have been nice. Nope we are all left still figuring it out on the day of graduation. Terrible terrible school that should give a partial refund to every single student in this masters program.

My time in the TWU dental hygiene program can only be described in two words, life changing. I had my share of ups and downs but each experience helped mold me into a confident and capable dental hygienist. I loved the program, campus, and faculty at Texas Woman's University. When I entered my degree program, I was a transfer student with a very science oriented background and limited music training. I was terrified that I wouldn't be "good enough" or wouldn't be able to achieve my dream of being a music therapist. Every professor encouraged me and took their time to make sure I felt confident in my abilities. I left with minimal student loans compared to my friends from other schools. I also left knowing... Texas Woman's University has been such a blessing to me. They are extremely flexible and work with you as students. They truly understand the work/life/balance so many of us are tackling. I had some of the greatest professors there and learned so much about my area of study. They really prepare you for the world whether you are ready or not. My area of study was in public health promotion and education and my professors kept encouraging my cohort to become Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES)... Read More after we complete our degree. They even encorporated some of the CHES content into their classroom materials. I am extremely happy to say that I obtained my CHES because of them and it has helped my resume become more attractive for the workforce.

I loved this school!! It was small enough to keep you from feeling overwhelmed, yet big enough to allow you to feel like you received the true college experience. The campus is easily walkable and the facilities are top notch. Just a few years ago, they built a new fitness center which is truly top of the line. In terms of academics, they are phenomenal! Read More loved the way the teachers connected with us during class, I always felt as though they were approachable after class and during office hours. One of the greatest benefits of attending TWU is the athletics. They have a phenomenal gymnastics team, which is the only college-level team in the state of Texas. Similarly, they have volleyball, basketball, soccer, and softball team who have won a number of awards. All of the games are free for students and the facilities are small and create a really welcoming environment. The school is located in a great city, very close to the University of North Texas. This is a nice touch for those looking to experience a college-level football game and gives you the opportunity to connect with more students. Denton is also a charming small-town city that has been upgraded to feel more modern. The downtown area, known as the square, is home to a number of great bars and restaurants, as well as coffee shops for studying. It is an incredibly safe area and school, one I would feel comfortable sending my own children to.

I was fortunate to do the Associates to Master's degree program they offered in 2003-2006. It was phenomenal and intense. I found it challenging and supportive at the same time. The access to instructors is commendable and the structure of classes almost felt tailored to my needs as a working student. The mothers worked just as hard and anyone else and found acceptance in the school's culture.

Texas Woman's University pioneered the first physical therapy program in Texas to award the Masters and DPT degrees in the field, and the only program to offer the Ph.D. The long-term excellence of the physical therapy program at TWU, along with the supplemental learning labs and the Ph.D. fast track option, are a few of the attributes that enticed me to pursue a degree at this University. Lastly, considering that TWU offers over 500 clinical sites to choose from, showcasing the healthy and consistent relationships that the University has with various clinical sites across the United States, I have access to quality clinical experiences. This is the most important factor to me because many other Texas DPT programs are having difficulty accessing clinical sites due to the saturation of programs.

I visited UTA, Baylor and TWU before decided on my BSN program. Baylor staff was supportive, but the school was out of my budget! UTA had a solid program, but TWU felt like the best fit. PROs: The staff was very supportive. I had a challenging time in Dr. T's pharmacology class, and would go to her with questions after each test. Professional, I've now worked with several of their faculty who are innovative and work closely with area hospitals so their students are prepared for the workforce, and also so their alumnis have solid career choices. I felt prepared when I graduated to be a nurse. CONS: There are several classes that I felt didnt make the best use of my time. They weren't clinically based (like an aging class), so check the degree plan!

As a working clinician, when you mention to people that you graduated from TWU, people already expect that you're great! TWU by far was the most rewarding educational experience I could've asked for. Professors are so open to helping you and your classmates will always be there to help you. The experience that all the professors have is unique and every single one of them is definitely more than qualified to fill your 3 years of grad school with knowledge.
