Yes, SCAD offers 21 online degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels that students can complete 100% remotely. Distance learners access the SCADnow learning management system to complete coursework and receive instruction.

Online undergraduate degree programs are available in fields such as advertising, fashion marketing, and photography. Online master's programs include service design, motion media design, and painting. 

Employers respect SCAD's online degrees because it's an accredited school. Specifically, SCAD is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master's and doctorate degrees, and certificates.

Accreditation is important because it means a school routinely goes through an intensive review process that evaluates its financial practices and the quality of its academic programming. If accreditation is conferred, it means the school keeps its promises to students.

SCAD is known and respected for the level of talent it produces. For example, over 150 SCAD alumni contributed to Oscar-nominated films in 2023, including the best picture winner, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and other winners, such as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Avatar: The Way of Water, and Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio. Alumni represent all production fields, including animation, visual effects, sound design, dramatic writing, and fashion.

SCAD is also known for SCAD TVfest, the university's annual signature event celebrating television and streaming and featuring special celebrity guests.

In 2022, Black former employees accused SCAD of racial discrimination and retaliation at least three times, as reported in Atlanta News First. These former employees reported being treated differently than other faculty members and that they were subjected to an abusive and hostile environment. This included being referred to with racial slurs. These former employers say they were fired after reporting these incidents to school officials. It's unclear if this is an ongoing case.

SCAD's bachelor's degrees in radio, television, and digital communication; architectural sciences and technology; and apparel and textiles provide the highest earnings for graduates based on federal data from College Scorecard. These alumni earn median annual salaries of approximately $50,100, $48,100, and $44,300, respectively. While communication and architecture programs are unavailable online, an apparel and textile degree, such as fashion marketing and management, is available remotely.

Additionally, OnlineU's proprietary Salary Score ranks colleges by how much their alumni earn compared to graduates with the same degree nationwide. SCAD has a bachelor's degree salary score of 32 (out of 100) and 33 for its master's degrees. 

Getting into SCAD is not very hard. According to College Scorecard, it accepts 78% of applicants, which is significantly above the average national acceptance rate. Furthermore, while SCAD recommends applicants take entrance exams and submit their scores, it's not required. This can make admittance even easier for some students who may not test well. 

SCAD's admission requirements for first-year students are comparable to other colleges and universities and generally requires the following:

• Evidence of English proficiency for ESL students
• Official high school transcripts or their equivalent
• Official college transcripts, if transferring credits
• Military transcripts, if applicable

• A portfolio, audition, or writing submission
• SAT/ACT scores
• A resume or list of activities and awards
• A phone interview
